At the start of the 2016 academic year, to coincide with the launch of the new website, ION switched mail clients to MailChimp. I was tasked with redesigning the templates and design of all the emails. These included weekly short course emails, monthly newsletters, quarterly diploma course emails, event emails and others. My design placed emphasis on a main item followed by secondary "you may be interested in" items. I also took this opportunity to change the tone of voice of the emails and make them more friendly and first person. The redesign has proven a good success with the average CTR rate increasing from 14.2% to 43.9% (much greater than the charity and education industry averages of 14.37%), and the CTO rate increasing from an average of 0.8% to 6.7%. The active email database list has remained between 2,500 and 3,200 subscribers.
